The Empathy Project CIC
Our Community Fund
We believe that everyone deserves help with their mental health. As a Community Interest Company (Limited by Guarantee) we are proud to be wholly community-owned.
We rely on the efforts of our volunteers, grants, donations and any financial reserves we have to provide the same quality of counselling at a reduced rate to people who are struggling to afford therapy that is right for them.

Low cost therapy
If you are in serious financial difficulty and cannot otherwise access mental health support that is right for you, we can offer sessions at a reduced rate.

We know that times are hard, and everybody's situation is a little bit different. That's why we assess all applications on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability. We use an honesty-based system and do not means-test applications.

Beneficiaries receive discounted therapy sessions at £40 each (normally £65)

Applications are made as part of the online referral from process (see below).
Help us help others
In August 2025 our Community Fund made up over 40% of all the counselling sessions we ran.

We run these sessions at a financial loss to our service, meaning we rely entirely on donations, the efforts of our volunteers and any operating surplus to be able to cover.

The Community Fund makes an incredible difference to people's lives, giving people who need it most access to high quality psychotherapy.

There are lots of ways that our community can help support our mission (not just donations!) Can you spare a minute to see how you might be able to help support us?
