Hello, I'm Chloe!
Do you feel at a crossroads, unsure what step to take next, perhaps feeling lost or insecure?
Or maybe you are experiencing a loss from redundancy, end of a relationship or a death of someone close to you?
Perhaps you feel that talking to someone could help.
How can I help?
Sometimes beginning your counselling journey can feel difficult talking about things from your past or present day that are causing you distress but you may notice that talking about these can help you to grow and change as a person and to understand yourself better which in turn may help you to feel better too.
Some people find that talking can really help them get things off their mind and can feel like a weight is being lifted. Talking to a counsellor or someone who doesn’t know you can often be helpful as you don’t need to hold anything back. I am here to listen and support you in whatever you might be facing and hopefully together we can find a way forward.
Who I am
My name is Chloe and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. I am based in Southampton in the UK and offer my sessions online, by phone and face to face. My sessions are for adults aged 18+. I am a warm, gentle and kind person who is softly spoken and welcoming.
Before becoming a counsellor myself, I had counselling sessions to help me in my own life and so I understand how scary it is to make the first step, but also how beneficial it can be and how important it is having a safe, confidential and accepting place to go.
My experience
My experience is wide ranging having worked with many different people and many different worries and issues over the last 4 and a half years. During COVID I helped people online and by phone where face to face wasn’t an option and supported those who were struggling with loss, worry and adjusting to the situation.
I have volunteered with a National Bereavement Charity as a Bereavement Volunteer since 2020 helping those who are struggling in their grief.
I also work at The Empathy Project where I have worked with clients who are struggling with their anxiety and anger to relationship issues and childhood trauma. I am fully qualified, insured, DBS checked and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Working with me
In my sessions I allow you the space to explore whatever may be on your mind at your own pace. I am there to listen, without judgement, and may offer suggestions if I think they may be helpful.
I don't give advice as we are all different and what may help one person may not necessarily help you. I may ask questions to clarify information, however I don’t tend to ask questions in the sessions as I allow you to talk about what is on your mind freely and openly. As I believe you are the expert on yourself, you are in control of the sessions, in terms of what you want to talk about and what pace you go. Sessions are confidential and held in a safe environment.
